Based on the data collected and provided by the FAA. We crafted a beautiful infographic that will help visualize the current state of FAA Certificated Airplane Pilots.

Couple of notes concerning this Infographic:

  • Many pilots who fly for personal business or pleasure earn higher FAA certificates or ratings for personal achievement. As a rule of thumb, about 20 percent of all pilots are actually employed full-time as pilots.
  • Total Women Pilots includes Sport, Gliders, Private, Commercial, ATP
  • Total Men Pilots includes Sport, Gliders, Private, Commercial, ATP
  • Averages Age for women and men pilots
    includes

    pilots with an airplane and/or a helicopter and/or a glider and/or a gyroplane certificate.
