STUDENT VISAS

PEA is proud to be 1 of only 4 flight schools in the U.S. to offer both the F-1 and M-1 Visa to our international students. As an international student, the type of student visa you conduct your training on will greatly impact your future and ability to accomplish your goals.

There are 2 types of student visa that the school can help you to obtain. The type of student visa you are eligible for is determined by which courses you decide to take at PEA.

F-1 Student Visa

1 year work authorization

The F-1 Visa permits international students to work as paid flight instructors in the United States for up to 12 calendar months following their training at PEA. This will give you the opportunity to build up your flight hours in order to meet employer minimums, perfect your skills, get a better understanding of the aviation world, and have the possibility of working for a U.S. airline, all while being paid to do so.
To be eligible for an F-1 Student Visa, you must be enrolled in either of the Professional Programs offered by PEA.

M-1 Student Visa

Studies only

The M-1 Visa authorizes an international student to study in the United States. If you need additional time to complete your training, all duration extensions must be approved through the government.

Interested in Conversion Post Training?

If you are interested in converting your FAA licensure to DGCA, EASA, or other aviation authority certifications, PEA collaborates with international schools and organizations to assist you in achieving your specific goals and requirements. If you already have some flight experience and are seeking DGCA or EASA to FAA conversions or dual licenses, we are also here to assist you.

DGCA Conversions

PEA began working with TNC Aviation in 2020 with the goal of providing our future students from India with a clear and easy path to their flight training in the United States. Upon completion of training at PEA, TNC helps students return home for conversions and possible employment opportunities. For students from India who wish to fly for India’s airlines, Phoenix East Aviation trains you in accordance with DGCA requirements; our India Airline Program meets all minimum DGCA requirements.

EASA Conversions

Phoenix East Aviation proudly announced its partnership with South Sweden Flight Academy. This partnership will ensure students who are looking to obtain FAA licenses and EASA licenses, have the flexibility to start in the US or Sweden, and then complete their conversions. Founded in 1972, Phoenix East Aviation has had the privilege of training thousands of pilots who were able to accomplish their dream of becoming Captains of a Major Airline.
