PEA Approved for F-1 Visa for Pilot Training Students

Great news for international students who wish to train at Phoenix East Aviation! Phoenix East has just been approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for F-1 Visa form authorization.

The F-1 Visa (Academic Student) allows a foreign student to enter the U.S. as a full time student at an approved, academic institution. This visa requires the student to be enrolled in a full-time program that culminates in a professional certificate — such as FAA certifications — or college degree. Because Phoenix East is a nationally accredited, high quality training academy, authorization was given by the U.S. government to accept qualified international students under this F-1 Visa program.

There are only three professional pilot training academies in the U.S. allowed to participate in the F-1 Student Visa program.

In this program a student progresses through a complete professional pilot training program. This takes the beginning student with no flying experience all the way through achieving his or her Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument and Multi-engine Ratings — and then continue training for the Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) and Multi-engine Instructor (MEI) ratings.

Upon successful completion of this full training program, a Phoenix East graduate may interview for a position as a Phoenix East flight instructor, and upon acceptance, become a paid employee of the academy, gaining practical flight experience as he or she continues building flight hours and gaining the experience required to attain the Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, which is the highest aviation certification given.  The F-1 Visa, under its Optional Practical Training, allows such employment during this advanced training and time-building phase.

For more information on how you can participate in this exceptional program, request details from an Admissions Officer at www.pea.com
