PEA & TNC Seminars in India

Amelie Coleman, Director of Sales and Marketing with Harmeet from TNC with former PEA students Tegvir and AshishEstablished in 2009, TNC Aviation has been at the forefront of pilot training in India. Their flight training programs are designed to offer strong ground school instruction alongside practical flying experience; a combination that is crucial for becoming a pilot. Embarking on a career within the aviation industry requires comprehensive training that blends both knowledge with hands-on experience. In 2020, Phoenix East Aviation and TNC Aviation partnered with the goal of providing future students from India with a clear and easy path to their flight training in the United States, leveraging the strength of both flight training facilities. Phoenix East Aviation welcomed its first students from TNC in January 2021, paving the way for many more to join. Amelie Coleman, Director of Admissions and Marketing for Phoenix East Aviation has made multiple trips to India in recent years to host seminars emphasizing PEA’s partnership initiatives: Recently she traveled to New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. This newsletter will cover her most recent trip.

TNC Aviation assists students in returning home for conversions and potential employment opportunities ensuring a smooth transition from the classroom to a flight deck. TNC is widely recognized for its top-notch DGCA exam preparation and classes, designed to ensure students are well-prepared for the rigorous DGCA exams. With the help of instructors and a structured curriculum, TNC Aviation consistently produces high-achieving students, equipped to soar in their aviation careers. PEA has an auxiliary training facility about 30 miles north of their Daytona Beach main campus, in Flagler Beach. This campus is home to those seeking to complete their flight training at an accelerated pace, along with student pilots coming to PEA through TNC Aviation.

PEA and TNC Aviation are proud to host nationwide seminars across India. These seminars provide invaluable insights, hands-on learning opportunities, and the chance to connect with fellow aviation enthusiasts. Joining Amelie Coleman were Tegvir Anand and Ashish Raj, who were present at the latest seminars in May 2024. Their presence added depth, diversity and first-hand experience to the seminar series as they both attended PEA through the TNC Aviation program.

Tegvir Anand medium shot in front of PEA Cessna 172 tailTegvir Anand was born and raised in India. Like many children, he was fascinated by planes in the sky and had a big dream of becoming a pilot. Even though children dream about their future, it is not easy for them to decide what they want to do in life. It took time for him to make a decision to pursue this career, “TNC Aviation was there to help me turn that decision and the dream into reality,” said Anand. TNC Aviation was with him every step of the way, from choosing a flight school, to helping him move to Florida to begin his flight training. Tegvir Anand successfully completed his Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot License with Multi Add-on, and his Flight Instructor Ratings while at PEA. Upon completing his training, he pursued the process to become a flight instructor at the same school that trained him, and he was subsequently hired. “As one of the first students from TNC to begin training at PEA [in 2021], I was very grateful for this opportunity. The collaboration between TNC and PEA has helped me follow my childhood dream of becoming a pilot and thanks to both of them for giving me everything that I have in my career right now,” said Anand. There is still a long way to go, but PEA and TNC Aviation will be with him throughout his aviation journey.

Ashish Raj photo during active flight waiting for takeoff in Cessna 172Ashish Raj had no idea that his life’s trajectory would lead him to the skies, “I was on the path to becoming a doctor, following the footsteps of my parents,” said Raj. After realizing his initial path was not the right fit for him, Ashish discovered his true passion for aviation during the COVID-19 pandemic. This unexpected period of reflection led him to reassess his goals and ultimately chose to embrace his long-held fascination with aviation. When Ashish decided to become a pilot and truly embrace the aviation industry, his personality grew immensely. He learned the importance of persistence, consistency, and hard work. Raj credits TNC Aviation for helping him get to PEA to follow his pilot dreams, “[TNC Aviation] really had my back when I decided to chase my dreams in the United States, and was there for me every step of the way,” said Raj. Moving halfway across the world for flight training can be daunting, especially for Ashish, who was the first in his family to pursue such a path. But TNC Aviation was there to help him. They even helped him prepare for the visa interview. Once at PEA, TNC Aviation made sure he had proper living accommodations, “it was like having a safety net thousands of miles from home,” said Raj. Ashish Raj began his aviation journey by completing the DGCA ground school in India. At PEA he obtained his Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Private Pilot License (PPL), Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot License (CPL) – both single and multi engine. Additionally Raj holds a Transport Canada CPL. When traveling back home to India, he began working on his conversion and now holds a DGCA CPL, too. When it came to converting licenses, TNC Aviation was there to talk him through it, easing any worries he had. He has since finished his training at PEA and is currently back in India, “I am working on my pre-type rating for the Airbus A320 and my immediate future plan is to obtain the type rating and secure a position with one of the airlines in India”, said Raj.

PEA and TNC Aviation explored their groundbreaking partnership, highlighting the strengths of both flight training facilities during the most recent seminars. TNC Aviation, recognized as one of India’s top pilot training institutes, highlighted their diverse range of aviation courses that fully comply with DGCA Indian Commercial Pilot License (CPL) requirements. Amelie Coleman discussed in detail with attendees how PEA is fully accredited and financially secure, providing students with a reliable pathway to becoming commercial pilots. A key focus of the seminars was the impressive instructor-to-student ratio of PEA being 1:6, ensuring personalized attention and high-quality training for aspiring pilots. PEA proudly represents 65 countries, and this partnership further highlights its international expertise, complemented by TNC’s strong presence in the Indian aviation market.

The aviation industry in India is experiencing a period of rapid growth and transformation. As the world’s third-largest domestic aviation market, India has seen an increase in air travel demand. “Over the past decade, the Indian domestic market grew at an annual rate of 6.9%. According to data by an aviation analytics firm that studied numbers from India, China, U.S., Indonesia, and Brazil, concluded based on numbers, that India is the fastest-growing market” (Dhawan, 2024). The Indian aviation sector has attracted significant investment both domestically and internationally, leading to the expansion of existing airlines and the emergence of new airline carriers. Despite facing various global challenges, the Indian aviation industry demonstrates resilience and growth, emerging as a stronger and more dynamic sector. With a bright future ahead, the industry is poised for exponential growth, driven by increasing passenger numbers and ambitious fleet expansion plans. This robust trajectory underscores India’s pivotal role in the global aviation world and promises exciting opportunities for pilots in the years to come, “India’s aviation sector has flourished, adding 83 new airports in the past decade, bringing the total to 157. On November 19,2023, India recorded its highest single-day air traffic with 4.5 million domestic passengers, a 7.4% increase over pre-covid levels (Balachandran, 2024).

The growing aviation industry in India implies an increasing demand for pilots. The partnership that PEA and TNC Aviation have, helps make that dream a reality.
