Quarter 4 Highlight: A Father’s Dream Becomes Nina Fialho Adler’s Flying Future

Phoenix East Aviation wants to congratulate all its pilots who completed their licenses or ratings in Quarter 4 of 2022. A lot of hard work and dedication is behind these achievements!

Among these achievements is CFI student, Nina Fialho Adler. She is one of the many female pilots that PEA is proud to have, and is an excellent addition to the PEA family. Her story is inspired by her father, but her achievements at PEA are her own.

Nina Fialho Adler navigated her career to PEA from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as soon as she finished high school. She has always had a passion for the aviation world: it started from a young age, when she grew up admiring her dad in the flight deck. Nina grew up listening to the many stories her father shared with her during his time as a pilot, and his story is what inspired Nina to follow her own journey to becoming a pilot. His pilot dreams took off in 1990, when he completed all his flight training in the South of Brazil, and shortly after became a flight instructor. Over the years, her father has flown for several airlines and a variety of different aircraft ranging from FK-50s, Embraer 145s, B727s, A320s, and B757s to name a few. He currently flies for Azul Linhas Aéreas.

While her father continues to live his pilot dreams, Nina is working on accomplishing hers. In the year that Nina has attended PEA, she has received her Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating, and her Commercial Pilot License. She is currently working toward her Instructor Ratings. She says that attending Phoenix East Aviation has brought her many memories that she will not forget, and says, “her whole journey has been amazing”, but the highlight of her time at PEA has been when she was working toward receiving her commercial license, and was able to fly solos at night, “there is something about flying at night that is just magical”, Fialho Adler says.

Nina hopes to work for PEA as a flight instructor, and once all her training is completed at PEA, she would love to work for the airlines.
