Broward college

The Emil Buehler Aviation Institute at Broward College offers aviation training in a variety of disciplines including professional pilot, aviation maintenance, avionics, air traffic control, and aviation administration.  Training is available in short-term credentials which can be completed in 1 semester all the way up to a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Sciences.

The college offers Credit for Prior Learning for licenses, certificates, and ratings earned elsewhere.  Students who complete flight training with Phoenix East Aviation can receive up to 33 credits towards the 64-credit Associate of Science degree in Professional Pilot Technology, a savings of nearly $4,000 in tuition and fees. See www.broward.edu/cpl for additional information. The remainder of the degree can be done fully online. Florida residents would pay approximately $7,500 in tuition to complete the degree.  Non-residents can still complete the program fully online at the out-of-state tuition rate.  See www.broward.edu/tuition for more information.

Broward College participates in the FAA’s Restricted-ATP Program. Graduates from Broward College’s aviation programs may earn a restricted privileges Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) certificate with 1,000 or 1,250 hours of flight experience.

Broward College is proud to be the newest member of the jetBlue University Gateway Program. Eligible students may receive a conditional job offer for a position as a JetBlue first officer while still in school. Details can be found at https://www.jetbluegateways.com/university-flight-ops.

Students who complete any associate’s degree program can pursue the Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Sciences. Currently the program is offered at the Broward College South Campus in Pembroke Pines, FL and cannot be completed fully online.
